When we arrived in Honduras, we stayed first at Guillermo’s sister Alma’s new house in Comayagua.

Our kids spent many happy hours playing soccer, hide and seek, tag and more with their cousins.

Father's Day

In Honduras, Father’s day is in March. We celebrated with a family gathering at brother Sabel’s house. The guest of honor – Maximo – is seated at the head of the table.

Afterward, we went swimming in a nearby river to escape the heat. (We went swimming a lot during our trip!)

Once we finally left the city and went up to the mountains to Rio Negro, one of the first things we did was tour the farm with Guillermo’s brother Sabel.

At this time of the year, the coffee plants are beautiful with white sweet smelling flowers.

A few days later, we visited Alonzo’s coffee farm (Alma’s husband) on the other side of the mountain.

Abilio's Eco-Casita

Back at Rio Negro, we saw brother Abilio’s new “eco-casita” – the cabin he is now renting out.

Abilio’s wife Bertila who is the only teacher at the community school, in front of their home. She teaches 90 students in 6 different grades in a 2-room school house.

Maximo and Natalia's house

Just down the road from Abilio and Bertilia’s house is where Guillermo’s parents, Maximo and Natalia, live. This is where we stay when we visit.
