Carteras: Unique Handbags Made from Recycled Materials By Honduran Women
We are pleased to be able to offer these unique handbags carefully created by women in the Rio Negro community near the Velasquez Family Farm in the Comayagua mountains of Honduras. The bags are made of recycled chip bags and newspaper and sewn together tightly with plastic fishing string.
These bags provide an important source of income for these women in a rural mountain community with few paid jobs, while also reducing litter. More about these bags and the women who make them is on our Honduran Handbags page.
